Killa Productions (Ben Sims vs Paul Mac)

Killa Productions aka Ben Sims vs Paul Mac is very much based on theoutput of KB RECORDS INC, a label created to be an outlet for the illusiveand cheeky edits of classic tracks recorded by both Ben and Paul(including the huge “Good Life”, ”Women Beat Their Men” and “GoingBack To My Roots”) which is a continuation of the hugely successful butshort lived KILLABITE.The concept is to re-edit and remix classic party tracks, whether it behouse or disco and give them that ‘killa’ twist. Ben and Paul have alwaysdone this with their own DJ sets and studio work, and have similar tastesin music, so after many years of discussions, they are now taking theproject on tour with a technology heavy DJ-versus show that featuresturntables, CDJ’s and laptops aiming to create those mixes and edits live.„It just felt like a natural progression to take the project to the clubs, especially as we now work even more closely in the studio and make lotsof special edits anyway, Killa Productions is really a kind of party set, where we drop lots of classics, lots of familiar techno, house, acid houseand disco edits and make the mastermix live rather than in the studio”explained Ben recently.2009 saw high profile debut gigs at Code/Fabrik in Madrid and Row 14 inBarcelona, amongst others, and already planned for 2010 is a set atHolland’s legendary Awakenings Festival plus an officially released mix CDshowcasing the boys talents, so …For any of the less ‘purist’ techno orientated parties and festivals, this isthe act for you, straight up-no nonsense, party music, all tightly blendedby 2 of the UK’s finest mastermixers.Check out the guys spinning at Fabrik in Madrid earlier this year here: http://bit.ly/1kmna7.
